Poem 3 (Joker)

Purple is ominous,
Dark and creepy,
Yet light,
Shady yet beautiful,
It sounds like water rushing,
and feels cold and full,
It goes hand in hand with green,
And wears like its a cozy suit,
It requires a smile,
And someone in pursuit.

This place is quite big,
My dad lights his cig,
I will live here,
Then move, and shed a tear,
The house was truly intrigue.

My dog

The best thing about Trax is that he's furry,
Soft, as wool

No, the best thing is that he sleeps next to me,
Taking space, stubborn

No, the best thing is that he want to protect me,
Barking at passing people, the mailman

No, the best thing is that he is smart,
He knows where he is, where home is

No, the best thing is that he is loyal,
He would never leave, he knows his family

No, the best thing is that he knows when I'm sick,
He will come to comfort me, because

He knows.

Can't feel the cold
Never getting old
Inside a mold
Starting to unfold

Quiet poem

A leaf flowing through the sky,
The wind pushing it's fragile frame,
It's frozen frame,
Freezing at the bus stop.

I'm cupid, I never miss!  How is this possible, It was the perfect shot, even the wind was calculated.  It must have been Erida, the god of hate.  She's always trying to mess up my job.  Now she finally did, oh great, I'm done for.  Zeus is going to fire me, I can't do unemployment, I'm just a baby, I don't even apply for unemployment!  What am I gonna do?

WAIT, I know...  I can shoot Zeus and make him fall for many women, That way I'll be off the hook because he'll be too busy for me.

That Thursday morning had been going so well until I found the neighborhood handyman dead on my workroom floor.  In that moment I panicked.  I had no idea what to do.  If I call the police then we will have to deal with them.  Our company already had a bad reputation.  If This makes the news we would go broke!  Ugh, I have to hide the body...

Man, we really gotta find out where these are coming from.  No return address, or any sign of where they came from.  Hmm, well I could try to figure this out.  Then again I could always just throw it away and go back to the computer.  I think I will...

1 week later

Oh great another one.  Well, I guess I could just watch the delivery guy.

1 more week later

Aaaaaand the delivery guy is just weird.

Short Story Draft

"I lost my son years ago, being the man I was I knew it was my fault."
"..."
"How can I not feel guilty?  Is this just how I'm supposed to react to these kinds of situations?"
"..."
"WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ME!?"
"Because they are not my questions to answer" I said.
"If they are not my therapist's questions, then whose are they?"
"They are yours, Henry, and I can not answer them for you."
"Why not?  Isn't that your job?" Henry questioned.
"No, my job is to help you answer your own questions."
"Well I'm not going to stand by and burn my money."
"Then get out.  I didn't ask you to sort my life out.  You came to me for help, not a free ride."
"I guess you're not what I'm looking for then."
Henry left the room slamming the door.  I'm is finally done with that idiot.  At last I can take my lunch break.  I looked at my clock.  Damn, an hour past lunchtime.  As I go to grab my lunch I looked at my desk.  My desk had my name, Lionel Prescott, carved into the wood.  Looked at the picture frame on my desk, ah, Anna, how I miss you. It's only been 4 years since you were killed...
I have to hurry and finish my lunch, my next patient will be in within the hour.  At least I get a lunch break today, its been weeks since I've had the privilege of an hour to myself.
"Mr. Prescott?"
It was my assistant Cathy, she's calling to tell me the worst news, my next patient was here.
"Yes, Cathy?"
"Are you okay?  Henry stormed out quite angrily."
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"So when should I set up his next appointment?"
"Funny."
"Well at least he's not your problem anymore."
At least...

The thing that interests me most that is irreverent is that I want to be a programmer.  I know I would never be able to do anything that is on a huge scale, such as program my own game, or work at Valve.  I just think it would be cool to be able to do these sorts of things.

Life as a cartoon character would be much easier.  If I were a cartoon character, I could do anything I wanted.  From things that are simply not breathing, to something like flying.  As a cartoon character there are no limits.  I could stretch my arms to become a bird, then fly to Antarctica to grow fur and live in the cold with the penguins.  Then I would swim across the Arctic Ocean to Australia's shores and survive in the outback for 3 years.  I wouldn't even need gills to swim across the ocean, because I can do what I want.  When I get back from the outback I will be a changed man, because surviving in the outback has changed my views on life drastically.  Now that I am a changed man, I go home to watch cartoons.  That is what my life would be like if I were a cartoon.

Flash Fiction questions

  1. According to the author, how is the narrative form of the novel particularly suited to America?
  2. How does Mr. Faulkner define flash fiction?
  3. What is gained in “writing short”?
  4. What must each line of a short short story do?
  5. What do you think Mr. Faulkner means by “Such evocative, fragmentary brevity makes this Twitter and Facebook era perfect for flash fiction. Flash allows literature to be a part of our everyday life, even if we are strange multitasking creatures addled by a world that demands more, more, more”? Do you agree?

1) The narrative form of a novel is very detailed, and America has become accustomed to it.

2) Flash fiction was described as a story that is under 1000 words.

3) When “writing short” you have to use your creativity to see how short you can keep your story without losing story.

4) Each line of a flash story must carry symbolic weight.

5) Mr. Faulkner means to say that with Facebook and Twitter, these are perfect ways to show others your flash stories.

There was this one time, in chemistry, where we were doing a lab.  We were making an unknown substance.  We added milled corn, sugar, malt flavor, salt, BHT, iron, vitamin C, niacinimide, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, thiamin hydrochloride, vitamin A palmitate, folic acid, vitamin D, and vitamin B12.  Turns out all that gibberish is really long for corn flakes.  Ms. Jones was hungry.

Flash Fiction about the Flash

The Flash Breaks the Mirror
Flash was running faster than possible, he was determined to win, Mirror Master was confused as to where he went.  Mirror knew Flash was fast, but he had no idea he was THIS fast.  Flash was running beyond the point of no return, he was fading, turning into pure energy.  Soon he became a new kind of energy, never know to any living creature.  Flash struck Mirror Master, shattering one half of him as well as completely melting his other half.  Although this was not murder, Mirror Master was too much of a coward.  He would never actually be in the field, he had been controlling a minion.
The world threat had been solved, but Flash was unable to stop.  He was sprinting so fast, he had no chance of stopping without sacrificing himself.  Flash was still speeding up, because he had no chance of slowing down.  He began to break the time barrier, traveling further into the future.  He had no choice, it was either stop and face unknown consequences, or continue on, until he no longer could.  So he decided to stop.  Flash blacked out.  Nothing.
Flash woke up in the Bat-cave, unable to move.  Batman walked out from the shadows, and explained that he wouldn’t be able to move for days.  Batman saved him from death,  Flash asked how Batman saved him, but Batman only said, “You don’t wanna know”.

Talia: It's Michael's fault, he accused me of cheating!

Michael: No, you TOLD ME you cheated on me!

Ms. Green: I don't care who did what, go the office, both of you!

Michael: But it's over, we straightened things out.

Ms. Green: It sounds like you have done anything but "straighten things out".

Talia: Yeah, I'm not done!

The Giant Dilemma

In a land made completely of mystery, there lived many creatures.  The most sophisticated race was the giant, and they were everywhere.  Thought there was one giant, who was the most brilliant giant of all.  Giants were mainly peaceful creatures, but if anything were to steal or wrong them, they would rip them apart.  Giants were extremely resistant to the cold, and lived at the peaks of mountains.  This one giant, his name was Cornelius, and he was descending into madness.  He felt that he was crowded by stupidity, and that he was far more superior to the others.
Cornelius lived in a cave, because he seemed to be the only giant without a great resistance to the cold.  This happened to be a great problem, because his father was Ymir, lord of the ice giants.  Ymir felt ashamed of his son and pushed him to do other things with his brethren.  Cornelius would not associate himself with other giants,  he preferred seclusion.  So he would let the days pass by, sitting in his cave.  Constantly thinking of a way to get off the mountain without freezing to death.  He had tried many times to leave, but was always stopped by his father, who forbid him to leave.
Cornelius thought of a plan though, this time, one that would work for sure.  He would take the bark from the sleeping tree at his camp, and use it as a sled to get down the mountain.  Cornelius fashioned a blade out of stone and cut the bark off.  He went to the safety of his cave and waited for the right time.  Within a week, his father and most of the giants went hunting, Cornelius took his opportunity, and sled down the mountain.  He had to dodge trees and rocks and strange new animals he had never seen.  Near the bottom, he hit a rock, and his sled broke into pieces.  Cornelius was sent tumbling down the final hill, and landed in a hot spring.  He found the perfect spot for him to live out his days.  There was a cave, it was warm, and he was with peaceful creatures.

You’re digging in your backyard when all of sudden you hit something. You can’t tell what it is so you thrust the shovel into the dirt one more time.  You suddenly hear a crack.  You continue to unearth the mysterious object.  Pulling dirt out of the hole with your bare hands, you find a skeleton.  The skull was broken in… oops.  What should you do? Call the police? Rebury it?  You choose to rebury it with a gravestone that says Skelly.

My favorite kind of creative expression lately has been movies.  I recently have been watching a lot of movies and they give me different views on many things.  For instance, My favorite movie is Silver Linings Playbook.  The movie give a look into what it can be like having a mental disorder, such as bipolar disorder.  This is meaningful to me because my Mom has bipolar disorder, and she says that the movie perfectly shows what could happen if she didn’t take her meds.
